Olight ArkPro Ultra Amber Orange Review: It Looks Incredible in Person

Olight has been absolutely nailing its limited and alternate colors lately. The Nebula Purple ArkPro is already one of my favorites, but the new Amber Orange ArkPro Ultra might be even better in person.
Calling it orange doesn't really do it justice. Depending on the light, it looks like a blend of copper, orange and amber, and it gives the ArkPro Ultra a much more premium look than I expected from the photos. It also happens to pair ridiculously well with my Benchmade Taggedout, which is probably going to make these two an easy EDC combination for me.

My First ArkPro Ultra
I already own two regular ArkPros, so I'm very familiar with the platform. This Amber Orange model is actually my first ArkPro Ultra, and the differences aren't massive.
The biggest change is Olight's OAL material, which gives the Ultra a slightly more premium overall build, along with a bump in maximum output. The Ultra reaches 1,700 lumens, 200 lumens more than the regular ArkPro's 1,500-lumen maximum.
Otherwise, this is still very much the ArkPro I've already been using. And that's not a bad thing. Rather than reinventing the light, the Ultra takes an already excellent EDC design and gives it a modest material and performance upgrade.
Amber Orange Is the Real Reason to Buy This One
Let's be real: the extra 200 lumens aren't why I'm excited about this release. It's the color.
Olight could have simply anodized this thing a generic orange and called it a day. Instead, Amber Orange has considerably more depth to it. Sometimes it looks orange, sometimes more copper, and under different lighting you get that amber tone coming through.
That's also why I think this is one of those finishes that benefits from seeing actual photos and video rather than relying entirely on Olight's product renders.
I've been impressed with Olight's recent color choices in general. Nebula Purple looks fantastic, and now Amber Orange gives the ArkPro lineup another finish that feels genuinely different rather than just another basic color option.
It Looks Great With the Benchmade Taggedout
One completely unintended bonus is how closely Amber Orange matches my Benchmade Taggedout.
They're obviously from completely different companies, so it's not an exact color match, but they're close enough that the two look like they belong together. If you're into matching your EDC gear, the Amber Orange ArkPro Ultra is going to be a fun one to build around.
Is the Amber Orange ArkPro Ultra Worth It?
If you already own an ArkPro, I wouldn't tell you that the Ultra's additional 200 lumens suddenly makes your existing light obsolete. The basic experience is simply too similar for that.
But that's also somewhat beside the point with this particular release.
Amber Orange is for someone who already likes the ArkPro Ultra and wants a version that stands out. And after seeing it in person, I think Olight knocked this finish out of the park.
The combination of copper, orange and amber looks much better than I expected, Olight's OAL material gives my first Ultra a slightly more premium feel than my regular ArkPros, and the whole thing fits perfectly into the kind of EDC setup where the gear itself is part of the fun.
I already thought Nebula Purple was one of Olight's better colors. Amber Orange might have just beaten it.
