I've had the DeWalt DCPS620B 20V MAX pole saw for around four years now, and I love this thing. It's gotten a ton of use, I've worn through multiple bars and chains, and the actual saw just keeps going.
Four Years of Real Use
At this point, I've gone through four bars and three chains, which should give you an idea of how much I've actually used this thing. It's been used for trimming trees, cutting branches and general property maintenance, and four years later it still works great.
That's about the best long-term review I can give a cordless outdoor tool. I've replaced the parts you're supposed to wear out, while the actual tool has kept working.
Plenty of Cutting Power
For normal tree trimming, I've been really happy with the performance. The DCPS620B has enough power to get through surprisingly substantial branches without making me wish I'd grabbed something else.
Being cordless is also a huge advantage with a pole saw. Throw a DeWalt 20V battery on it, add some bar oil and you're ready to start cutting. There's no gas engine to maintain and no extension cord to deal with.
The Pole Does Have Some Flex
If I have one complaint after all this time, it's the pole itself. There's definitely some bend and flex when you've got the saw fully extended.
It hasn't stopped me from using it, and obviously mine has survived four years of work, but you can feel the flex when you're reaching up high with the weight of the saw hanging off the end.
That's really my only significant complaint.
Would I Buy the DeWalt DCPS620B Again?
Absolutely. Mine has been used enough to go through four bars and three chains, yet the actual saw is still working four years later.
The pole has some flex, but that's about the worst thing I can say about it. It's powerful, convenient, easy to grab and has proven to be extremely durable.
Four years later, I still have it, I still use it, and I'd buy another one. That's an easy recommendation.
